Water's Edge

Several years ago, I took Reynola Pakusch's class on Designing with Circles at In the Beginning (now sadly out of business). I loved learning to applique perfect circles and creatively use patterned fabric. For this piece, I used two different Alexander Henry prints, one with feathers and the other with cactus, for the circles and dove into my stash for the backgrounds. I like the color flow, but I think I matched the backgrounds too closely to the circle, to the point where in many cases the circle is lost. To compensate for the overall mushiness, I added black sashing to at least define the blocks. I still like it, mainly because I like the overall blue/green effect.
