Thread Colors

It seems that thread colors can be so different on the quilt than on the cone or as described. I am using King Tut in Caravan for this quilt. It is described by Superior as Charcoal-Med. Brown-Gold/Brown-Med. Gray, and on the cone, that's pretty much what it looks like except for perhaps having more gold to it. But when I stitch it out, especially on the solid tan fabric, it looks like green-gold-blue-pinkish gray. Maybe it's the lights on the machine? It doesn't look bad, just not what I expected.
