My niece Annie spent January in Tanzania with a college class. I've heard some stories second-hand, and it sounds like it was an amazing experience. They watched the Inauguration in a small mud hut in a village about 10K from the Kenyan border. She sent me this khanga, honoring Barack Obama. She wrote, "All the women wear these as wrap around skirts. They have really pretty borders and then all sorts of of colorful patterns. I thought this one was just great- no classic Tanzanian pattern - but the people LOVED Obama there." Thanks, Annie, I love it!
