Happy Valentines

I made some little quiltlets in celebration of Valentine's Day for my mother and sisters. I got these two done in time to mail before the day, the others should be sent soon. The larger one is for Mom.

A cheerful heart print, raw-edge appliqued to a solid purple background and lots of quilting in red thread. I got some Patsy Thompson DVDs on free motion quilting for Christmas, and thought I'd experiment a little. I really should do the practice exercises first, but haven't had time. Any way, it was fun, and I like the way they turned out. Mom called and she likes it too!
